Hey HG
Did you ‘Remember, remember the 5th of November’. Any fireworks over your way? How are the Houses of Parliament? Still standing? Did guy end up on the bonfire again? Nothing like that here – culturally irrelevant to most Aussies.
NY photos and commentary both interesting. Mrs HG accompany you? First time Stateside or was this a return trip?
Any plans to visit the Antipodes? Can’t promise the same rollercoaster ride that NY does, but it is a heck of a long way from anywhere else (that must count for something!).
Cheers

Yeah, went up to Primrose Hill on the night itself and gazed at the fireworks over South London with my friend The Mrs (I know, bit confusing, but that’s his nickname). Then I watched the local fireworks display with Mrs Hg on the Saturday night.
New York was without Mrs Hg, who was working and disinterested, given that it was a trip based around a concert celebrating Gavin Friday’s 50th birthday. Not the first time I’ve been to either NYC or the USA, but definitely the trip I’ve enjoyed the most.
A place a long way from anywhere else sounds very attractive, especially given the plummetting temperature here. Sadly, given the precarious state of my post-NYC and post-boiler-repair finances, I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere for a while.
