The Diabolic Gift

“Should” is the word that the Devil gave us so we could torture ourselves when he’s busy working on other projects.

I concur! but then you knew that…
    Anyway I shou… ohh dammit!

  2. Paul says:

    Woulda. Shoulda. Coulda.

  3. Hg says:

… are the last words of a fool, according to Beverley Knight.

  4. Moloch says:

And you should be working on your post of your favourite music of 2008!

  5. Hg says:

Ha! You fucker, Moloch. You’re closer to the mark than maybe you realise, because that particular “should” is foremost in my mind at the moment and is responsible, in part, for this post.
    Yes, I should indeed.

  6. Paul says:

better write another comment then, so that they aren’t my last words.
cows on mars, i hear ?

  7. Hg says:

So you’d rather “cows on mars” were your last words instead, then? :-)

  8. Lady P says:

Genius Paul. That must be what it is. (http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=methane-on-mars-is-something)
And yes, where the feck is the review? How else do I keep my Last.fm profile looking interesting if not through regular playing of the Hg selections?

  9. Hg says:

The review has been… troublesome. Each time I sit down to finish it, I end up all but scrapping it and re-writing from scratch. I think I’m on the sixth or seventh version now. However, time moves on and its publication must either be imminent, or abandoned. I’ve copied a draft version onto my laptop to work on while commuting tomorrow.

  10. Daniel Black says:

To be honest, I’m fine with your holding out. I’m intimidated by its exclusion of music I’ve heard of; it more clearly defines my musical ignorance. I don’t need any more help feeling small and unworldly.

  11. Hg says:

Glass half full, Daniel! It’ll be full of wondrous stuff that you might never otherwise have come across. No need for paranoia or self-denigration.
If I asked for your comparable list, I’d be happier if I’d heard of nothing on it than if I was already intimately acquainted with all of the artists present.
And anyway, I thought we’d clearly established by now that few have heard of much of the music that I mention and even fewer actually like it :-)
