Angels Of The North

The divine Mrs Hg and I have finally managed to spend more than ten minutes together in the same room this week. We’ve just booked a few days away in the Newcastle/Durham area next week.
Any recommendations as to what we should do when we’re up there will be gratefully received. You probably know our leisure tastes by now – restaurants, pubs, art galleries, shopping, etc. We live like church mice at home, honestly.

    Ahh the Angel of the North, hijacked this very day to promote blood sports… worth a visit or at least a drive by just to appreciate the scale of it..

    Durham Cathedral. (And not a church mouse in sight.) Even if you’re not a “churchy” person, this one will knock you sideways. And it’s a thousand years old. The whole of Durham City Centre (which is blissfully tiny) is a trip back to the Crusades and beyond.
